Warm in NY -- I Want to Go Camping Even More Now!

Its a dreary but WARM day in New York today -- makes me want to go camping even more! I look online to see what I want to buy for the new camping festival season and I have so much I want to get! I do need a rug for the entrance to my tent thats the top of the list I am sure however that I will be able to find free of charge in someones junk pile this April. Oh did I mention I am an avid recycler? Here where we live they have a huge neighborhood garage sale. The following day they put out all the junk on the street they do not want and people pick the piles and the very next day the town picks up all that was not taken. You would not beleive the amount of people who roam the streets collecting things. Oh and one of those people is me! So I am on the search for a stove for my daughter. She has decided she wants to go camping this spring with her family. I told her a camp stove was the best investment I made. Not only is a camp stove great for camping but also when the electric goes out and it is cold out -- it is nice to be able to make a hot meal and a hot cup of coffee! To me now it is a something I cannot live without. I do make the best meals on that little camp stove I have. I do recommend when you buy one you get one with 2 burners. I like cooking my coffee then cooking breakfast at the same time. (who doesn't!) So I am thinking this is the week to make my first campground reservation I am pretty sure it will be Thompsons Lake Campground which is outside of Albany, NY. I Can't Wait to Go Camping

We are over that January 1st hump to go camping thankfully. Here in NY we usually start camping in May. Hopefully depending on the weather it is usually early May. So lets see here it is January 27 so just 4 little months to get the plans together to go. I think my first outing will be to Thompson Lake State Park this year. I have never been there and it is very close to my home about 45 minutes. I have heard it is very nice. I will pick a nice couple days and make a reservation at ReserveAmerica.com I have found the staff of ReserveAmerica to be the most knowledgable staff. Many of them are campers themselves and have been to many of the parks they made reservations for! So with all this said I am more than ready! We will also be camping at The Mountain Jam Festival which is being held this year June 6-9 -- Last year we camped at Moreau State Campground which is about 10 miles from Hunter Mountain where Mountain Jam is held. We were able to get a good nights rest went back to eh campground late at night and got up late and went back to Hunter it worked for us. This year however we may camp at Hunter still up in the air as far as our plans go! I get get so excited I plan on making some purchases very soon before I go camping I do need a new hoodie and I am thinking I will be getting the Aiko Hoodie I like that one a lot -- there are actually a bunch on that page which are real nice!
